Tesco Homeplus Virtual Subway Store in South Korea

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

food on your phone When grocery chain Tesco wanted to expand their market share in South Korea, they came up with a brilliant idea.

Because the people in South Korea work long hours they thought of an efficient way to sell their products. The Korean subsidiary Home Plus put up billboards in subway stations with their range of products, accompanied by QR, or Quick Response codes. All people had to do now is scan the QR codes with their cell phone and the groceries were delivered to their doorsteps.

which phone should i get?

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

i can finally afford a phone, and im not sure which to get. (pardon my lack of grammar such as apostrophes, my keys are messed up. ex: quesion mark=É). if i were to get a smartphone instead of just something to text with, my first idea was an iphone because i already know how to use everything on it and i know its a good quality phone. im NOT getting a blackberry, everybodys breaks. htc was definitely on my mind, but my friend said they break just as much as blackberries(not sure if this is true or not, hes one of the people who thinks he knows everything.) he also said rogers and fido are the best companies, and i agree with fido, but not sure about rogers.

i cant get a contract because my jobs arent steady(current job is at a restaurant, it closes in october). so i was thinking a tab on virgin or koodoo or something, or just buying the phone i want(i can afford pretty much every phone available on kijiji right now).

the phones im interested in simply based on how they work are the iphone, htc desire, htc sensation, inspire, evo, any of the sweet htc phones basically. i dont even think they have one called the inspire. samsung aswell, not the galaxy s 2 because my stepdads getting that (his rogers contract finally ended haha), but the infuse probably. those are all i can think of right now in terms of smartphones, but any suggestions for a simple cheap texting phone would be useful too.

also, some guidance towards which plan to get on which provider would be helpful. (I LIVE IN ONTARIO, CANADA. NO SPRINT OR VERIZON UP HERE N STUFF)

HTC sensation an awesome phone

What I like about cheese,
is that you can put it on veggies,
and it tastes,
Mmm mmm so good

I like to talk about food,
‘Cuz it’s my favorite thing to do,
Every treat from yellow to blue,
red to green, so lets all sing!

Tell me all about your favorite foods,
(Robbie: Mine is pizza!)
(Jade: And I like hamburgers, too.)
(Cat and Andre: I`ll eat ice-cream cake,
till my tummy aches)
But then here’s what I`ll do,
Here is what I`ll do,
Share some of mine with you.
(Yummy, yummy,)
(Ooohh, in my tummy)
(Ooohh, yummy yummy.)
All of my Favorite Foods
(Yummy, yummy)
(Ooohh, in my tummy)
(Ooohh, yummy yummy.)

Well, I like noodles in a bowl,
Chicken nuggets make me lose control,
‘Cause they taste
Mmm mmm so good
(Cat: Yeah!)

I am new to smartphones and have several questions?

Sunday, January 22nd, 2012

I am planning to buy my first smartphone soon. I have just started doing some research on them so I still am confused about a few things.

So far, I am planning to buy the Samsung T679 Exhibit II 4G for $190 with no contract along with the T-Mobile $30/month, unlimited web, text, and 100 mins of talk. I do not want to get into a 2-year contract and I don’t have much more money than that to spend anyway so it seems like the best deal. If you know of a better deal or something, let me know.

With this deal, I think you get the first 5GB of data at 4G speed. If you go over 5GB in a month, then it switches from 4G to EDGE for the rest of the month. Here come the questions: If I am at home or work, can I use my phone to wirelessly connect to the internet through my home or work connection like I would with a laptop? If so, does that use up any of the limited 4G data I would have? Or would I then be using the internet on a different connection therefore saving my 4G for when I am out and about?

Also, what about if I am at a restaurant or other place where they have wi-fi connection? If I am connected to their wi-fi then am I using up my 5gb’s of 4G or not?

Do I have to be connected to somebody’s internet or will my 4G internet work anywhere, like if I am walking down a sidewalk in town or walking down the street in a neighborhood or at someone’s house who does not have internet?

Ok, that is enough about the web browsing on phones, which you can tell I still don’t understand completely. My next question is, can you transfer music from a computer on to this phone? Does this phone have a USB or something like that in there?

Last question, does this particular phone have an HD screen for when you are viewing Youtube videos and such? If you don’t know all this, that’s ok. I mostly want to know about the 4g anyway.

Thank you for your help!

Ok I can answer a few of your questions. If your looking for a cheap smartphone deal virgin mobile is great and affordable 35 bucks for unlimited data and 300 mins with no contract is a great deal here i suggest this phone ok with this phone you will be able to transfer music from the computer to it you will also be able to purchase music on this device. You asked if you would have to be connected to the internet while away from your hous ethe answer is no you will have internet access anywere from the cellphone company this screen has hd video and will let you instantly stream from blockbuster netflix youtube and more. I use a droid x on verizon with a 2 year contract but i know lots of people with virgin mobile and i had it before its auctully great.

Recycle your CELL PHONE – help the FOOD BANKS….is this not a good idea?

If everyone in the world were suddenly like you, what industries would explode and which would flop?

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

Ok, so here’s a fun question I like to ask sometimes. Let’s say that all of a sudden everyone in the world was like you. I mean, has your exact likes and dislikes: particularly spending habits and pastimes.
What industries would explode with profit and what industries would just go completely bust? Also, go inbetween. What industries might increase a bit and which would decrease?

For me, this is how it is.

Industries that would explode:
1. Fast food. You think a McDonalds every mile or so is enough? This industry would explode like none other if everyone was like me. Fast food corporations would have to redefine their logistics in order to keep up with the demand. In addition to that, significantly more restaurants would have to be built in order to keep up with the long lines. I’m talking about just about one of each restaurant within each mile or 2 radius. And you know how many restaurants there are of each.

2. Internet. Everyone would have a high speed internet connection at home. When you use your smart phone to scan for Wifi signals, you’ll be picking up networks constantly.

3. Android. Everyone would have Android in their lives. Some would choose i-phone. But most would go with Android. Just having a smartphone.

4. Adults only entertainment. Not going into this one, as if it’s not exploded already! Particularly internet based and maybe specialty bars and clubs catering to this.

5. Fridays and Saturday nights. Everyone would take advantage of their time off and go out!

Industries that would flop:

1. Sports. I have absolutely no interest in them. Sports on TV, sports clothing, and merchandise.

Industries that would increase:
1. Electronics stores. They already make a lotta money but people would be in them buying computers and accessories.
2. Restaurants. Particularly, sit down restaurants. People will eat out more and this would increase the number of restaurants there are. As if there aren’t enough.

Industries that would decrease:
1. Grocery stores. Everyone would eat out a lot more so there would be much less need for grocery stores. Wal-Mart supercenter would cease to exist, and regular sized grocery stores would decrease to probably the size of a large convenient store (Such as Flying J or Pilot).

So, these are just things I can think of right off. I’m sure there are more for me in each category. So, I want to know what it would be like if everyone were like you!

I’m not big on explosions, so, I should think, none would explode.

As for flop, well, I just don’t know how that happens. Or did you mean hop? (still, a whole company hopping, that would be a site!)
