Step 1: Don’t answer your phone
Don’t answer your phone and start chatting away if you are in the middle of an in-person conversation. If you’re expecting an important call, set your phone to vibrate, and then excuse yourself and go elsewhere to chat if the call comes in.

Step 2: Answer your phone
If you are not near enough to your phone to answer it within three rings, silence the ringer or turn it off — especially at the office.

Step 3: Don’t assume it’s off
If a phone rings somewhere inappropriate, like in a theater or during a church service, double check that it’s not yours, even if you’re “positive” you turned it off or silenced it.

Step 4: Rethink your ring tone
Rethink your ring tone. Consider whether the volume or song snippet you chose might disturb some people. If it might, set your phone to vibrate.

Step 5: Show some consideration
Keep your voice down and the conversation brief when speaking on your cell phone in public. If you have to shout to be heard, make the call elsewhere. Never curse or talk about intimate matters when you’re out and about.

Step 6: Keep your checking in check
Keep your message-checking in check when you’re with others by setting time limits; say, one peek per hour.

Step 7: Don’t dine and phone
If you must use your phone during a meal, excuse yourself to do so. Don’t leave it on the table, lighting up with alerts; and don’t sneak it underneath the tablecloth to check messages or sports scores.

Step 8: Don’t talk and drive
Don’t talk and drive. It annoys 61 percent of your fellow motorists, even though over half of all drivers admit using a cell phone while driving.

Tip
Cell phone use — even if you are using a hands-free device — also quadruples your risk of a collision.

Step 9: Don’t drink and dial
Don’t call anyone after you’ve had a few too many. It’s never a good idea.

Did You Know?
Most Americans are opposed to lifting the ban on cell phone use during flights, according to numerous surveys.

10 Points what would you do? you met a girl of the chatline that lives three doors down?

Monday, July 30th, 2012

Say you sad something like i heard you was burning, and she got mad and ran on your Porch and Smacked your Food out of your hands why you was eating, the food you just ordered from the store. then shes gets in your face and start talking s**t and when she leaves she throws Rocks at your door. then she gets back on the chat line and start putting your personal info out like your moms name your dads name your name, your address and your phone to people on the chat line.and she put blogs on the internet telling people whoever wanna do damage to you let her know, what would you do.

get the police involved, save all the info on her activities online…that’s not cool.

What is your favorite food, and what where are you from?

Monday, July 30th, 2012

This question had been asked before but I want ot see what I get from it. What state/country are you from and what is your favorite food, based on you ethnic background?
I love spicy food! Mexican foods are awesome! I also love the all american pizza. Pizza is my Favorite Food. An American style spaghetti is also one of my favorite. I’m German and Indian.
What I’m getting so far is that no matter what ethnic background you’re from, everyone just loves food! Mexicans love italian food and vice versa. Etc etc… I guess its just what the nationality was creative enough to cook first.

I’m American, I was born in Connecticut, and my heritage is Dutch, Irish, English, Scottish, and German. I like all kinds of food, but I favor Italian (especially pizza and ziti) and Mexican foods over anything else. There’s nothing wrong with good old American classics, though, like hot dogs and burgers– I’ll take in a dog or a cheeseburger anytime.

Okay this is the killing scene in my story. Any comments? mistakes i made?

Saturday, July 28th, 2012

I walked slowly and quietly behind him, shoving one hand into my coat. Not making a sound. The only sound was the soft beat of the rain and his heavy breathing. As the last car zoomed by, I realized we were pretty much isolated. I crept closer to him.
“Tyler.” I whispered into his ear. He whizzed around surprised, shaking. I couldn’t help but giggle.
“What the hell are you doing here? Are you stalking me or something? Freak.” He said trying to keep his voice steady.
“Now, don’t be mean.” I said innocently batting my eyelashes and pouting. “I just came to check up on you. I heard someone’s been after you, cutting your breaks, breaking your phone so you can’t call for help, a needle in your food.”
“What?” he asked, horror-stricken at the sudden realization. “Wait. Leona, did you-”
I smirked. “At least that’s what I heard. But, it looks like they aren’t succeeding very well. I mean, you’re still here. Luck you, right?” He stepped back. He wanted to run, but the shard of glass from his window was still wedged in his leg.
“You’re a freak.” He shook his head. “You’re a crazy freak.”
“Oh, Tyler, I wouldn’t be calling the person with your life in their hands a freak.” I slid my hand out of my coat revealing a beautifully sharp kitchen knife.
“What the hell are you doing with that?”
“What do you think? I knew you were stupid, but I didn’t think you were that stupid.” I snapped. He stepped back a little more, but that was too much for his wound. He clutched at it and groaned silently. “Damn, your entire car flips over and all you get is that little cut?”
I stepped closer and ran my hand through his tasseled brown hair. “Girls don’t like to played, Ty, it’s time you get what you deserve!” I yelled thrusting the knife into his stomach. He clutched his stomach, screaming. How delicious it was to here that scream. He coughed and coughed, gasping for air.
I laughed like the villains do in those cliché kids’ cartoons did because it all felt so funny for some strange reason. Watching him cringe in pain, scream for help gave me a feeling of satisfaction.
“Aw, you’re still breathing.” I said as if it was some cute joke. I thrust the knife into his chest right where his heart was supposed to be. Then I glided the knife against his throat. I leaned back to admire my work. Tyler was no longer moving, no longer struggling, my work was done.
I stripped him down to his boxers than carved “Bleed, Hurt, and DIE for me, My Love” across every inch of his body. Suddenly, I saw headlights, someone was coming. “Bye bye, my love.” I whispered. I kissed his cheek leaving a big red lipstick mark on his cheek. I scrambled to my feet and ran into a dark alley close by.
I waited for the car to drive by but then I heard a car door slam. Then, a scream. I peeked just a little to see a woman and a man standing there, struggling to dial 911. “Oh my God, that poor boy.” the woman said shaking her head.
I had to go. If the police came, they’d find me. I sprinted down the road my hair whipping through the wind.
“Hey, you!” the man yelled behind me, but I didn’t turn around. The last thing I needed was them getting a glimpse of my face. I tried to run faster, but running has never been my thing and I was already getting tired.
I veered right onto another street. I leaned against the wall, trying to catch my breath. I heard the faint sound of sirens in the far-off distance so I gathered up my strength and continued running.
After what seemed like hours of running, I ended up home. It was a stupid idea, but I wanted to rest. I slipped through the door and climbed up the stairs. I took of the jacket I was wearing now soaked with blood and rain and shoved it to the bottom of the hamper. Then I stretched across the bed and fell asleep.
it’s horror, romance, drama and mystery. it’s the first story i’m actually considering finishing :D
@AGL4597 ik i thought it was awkward too but i didn’t know what to fix it to so i just left it.
thank you so much for your help. i think a lot of things sound awkward but my brain turns to mush when i think too much so i just give up -_-"
okai ik my whole i heard people have been after u… sentence is awkward i fixed it on the whole piece thing. like with comments i check it then fix it if i c what ur talking about sooo. some awkward things have been edited in the whole version.
okai ik my whole i heard people have been after u… sentence is awkward i fixed it on the whole piece thing. like with comments i check it then fix it if i c what ur talking about sooo. some awkward things have been edited in the whole version.
also, srry about my grammar. i talk like different in real life. not all gramatical. and i don’t pay attention to punctuation which is really important if i wanna b a writer. i just learned how to seperate paragraphs last year in eighth grade so. i’m veeeeerrrry slow. ^_^" hehe. anyhoo thanks for the help.
also some r not complete sentences for REASONS like she’s pausing. like dramatically. whenever there’s a period or something like that. i know i have A LOT of fragments but that’s how i want them sometimes.

Oh wow :O. That was pretty disturbing, but I guess that was the point. I like how you have the whole sickly-sweet thing going on, and how you wouldn’t have expected Leona (that’s her name, correct?) to be the one behind it all.

I would work on this line, though. It just doesn’t flow very well, I think it’s the breaks/breaking thing.
"I heard someone’s been after you, cutting your breaks, breaking your phone so you can’t call for help, a needle in your food.”

Adding some more description and adjectives would be good too, describing what Tyler was doing and what she was feeling. Just little words with desperately, clawed, etc. can make a difference. I did like how you used ‘veered’ though, that’s a good verb.

The last few sentences is a little sloppy. You want to keep your readers wondering. Your first few sentences were a good hook, but at the end it looked like you rushed to get finished. Maybe "I stretched across the bed and fell asleep, the thought of Tyler and what I had done still fresh in my mind. And the same thought, along with my figure running down the alley, was probably with the poor couple that discovered his body." I just made that up on the spot and just for an example, I have no idea where your story is going.

Also, you might want to go over it for simple grammatical errors and just clean up to make it flow more smoothly. ;)

But overall, not bad. Things can always improve, but I liked the scene!

Good luck, hope I helped. :)

I want to be a vegetarian but sushi is my favorite food?

Saturday, July 28th, 2012

I decided I’m going ot be a vegetarian. I don’t like the way they treat the animals, it is healthy, and it’s good for the enviroment and it saves water for people who don’t have any. But my Favorite Food is sushi! I know some vegetarians who still eat fish, but is that still classified as a "vegetarian"? Also, what do I do if I eliminate fish but still want to eat sushi, which I don’t eat TOO often?

Eat whatever you want to eat but if you eat animal flesh (fish) or byproducts derived via the death of an animal you aren’t a vegetarian.

"I know some vegetarians who still eat fish"–they aren’t vegetarians.
