Food Court Favorite: Orange Whip! Noreen’s Kitchen

favorite food Greetings! We all love them! Orange Julius! You find them in the mall. I know I personally grew up having them with my girlfriends at the El Con Mall in Tucson, Arizona. that and a hot pretzel got us through many a summer day!

You can make these yourself, with very little effort. Really it is simply orange juice, milk and egg whites or egg white powder. I have added my vanilla syrup because it was available and it tastes delicious. You can simply add a couple teaspoons of sugar and some vanilla extract if you don’t have vanilla syrup. I also have dehydrated egg whites in my food storage. This makes things easy and safe. If you have home grown eggs, than I would absolutely add in that fresh egg white. If you buy your eggs at the store, I would use the powder. Just to be on the safe side. Egg white powder can be found in the baking aisle in the grocery store or you can find it called Meringue powder in the cake decorating section at most big box stores.

This tastes just like I remember! It doesn’t take many ingredients and it is really kind of healthy! Nice boost to your morning and flavorful too! I have also made these in the past by adding the orange juice, ice, egg white powder and some instant vanilla pudding powder to the blender and getting a similar result. No matter how you do it, you are going to really enjoy this one!

I hope you give this a try and I hope you love it!

Happy Eating!

    It was most likely …
It was most likely a scoop of their “base” which is probably very similar to creamer powder. I have also made this with a tablespoon or two of vanilla instant pudding powder with great success. You can leave the egg white out but that is what makes things foamy! : )

I don’t think I’ve every made this for PrepperA. I’ll have to do that because she would love it. Thanks for reminding me about this delicious, refreshing, treat.
